These are some of the fine people, companies and organizations that have joined hands with us to help eliminate hunger and food deserts.
John Klauder Landscape & Design was our very first donation! They were gracious enough to provide us with an integral part of our compost operation. This is a large stake body truck with dumping capabilities. We can now deliver much needed soil and resources to our inner-city farms.
Vermont Compost has been an extraordinary resource for our whole operation. Karl Hammer first started experimenting with composting and field soil management in the 1970's. His first commercial composting business began in the 1980s. Recognized as a pioneer in the field, Karl has been instrumental in educating us on proper soil development.
OEFFA is recognized as one of the country's foremost leaders, educators and organic certifiers. For more than 30 years, OEFFA has used education, advocacy, and grassroots organizing to promote local and organic food systems, helping farmers and consumers reconnect and together build a sustainable food system, one meal at a time.
The Kroger Co. group of grocery stores has a long history of bringing help and hope to the communities they serve, including a strong commitment to feeding the hungary. This dedication has provided a major source of fruit and vegetable matter to incorporate into our compost program. This supply is critical to providing the foundation to our farm development projects.
Capital City Millwork supplies specialty building products, custom millwork, hardware and other products to residential and commercial builders across the Midwest and beyond. They were more than willing to help us with our much needed remodeling project. We are creating a small cannery to preserve our produce for winter use. We received an exterior door, two interior doors and three locksets. What a nice addition to the project!
BOOS Blocks manufactures the finest butcher blocks in the industry. If you have ever watched a cooking show we guarantee you have seen a maple butcher block from them. They donated three massive butcher blocks at 2 1/4" thick by 2' by 3'. These blocks will be used in our cannery to prepare our produce.
Netafim is the world’s leading irrigation company, they drive mass adoption of smart irrigation solutions to fight scarcity of food, water and land. They are a pioneer in drip and micro-irrigation products for agriculture and greenhouse applications. We are excited to utilize a gravity fed (non-electric) drip irrigation system that will be a backbone of our urban farms.
Brushy Mountain Bee Farm provides some of the most needed supplies to the agriculture industry at this time. There is an epidemic shortage of bees in this country and we aim to help address this problem. One half of an acre will be dedicated to bee forage at our farm. Our new bee hive will be a tremendous asset to our pollinator program.
